So when I left work on Friday I found out that I was getting moved to a different department, under a boss that I don't quite care for. Also the move does not come with any sort of pay raise, and after 2 1/2 years working for this place and only getting chuckles for responses whenever raises are mentioned I really think I am going to react very verbally not nice tomorrow when I head into work.
Since when has it become the norm for companies to not offer raises anymore , or is it just in the area I live, while I was growing up I was told that when you worked hard you were rewarded for your efforts, now it seems that companies no longer care about treating employees right and only care about the bottom line on their quarterly statements. There will be people that read this and say things like " But the economy is in poor shape , what do you expect" well first I have two points to make against that: the economy is doing well enough that when I head down to the mall on the weekend I see a mall parking lot that is packed, I see people walking out of Best Buy with new laptops under arm (yes I did mean to pluralize that) and as for the second point I firmly believe that if a company manages itself properly then it should be able to budget in raises for its employees (at least those that deserve it) and it appears as though the company I work for is not the latter for sure.
So there is my first rant, thought, or whatever you may want to call it but it's what I got to give for the night. Now I think I just might load up a game that allows me to zone out a bit more before +The Walking Dead comes on.
Till we meet again
Brian
